Join us for the official inauguration & reopening of Escuela Vera Angelita in Nicaragua!

We are so thrilled to have you as our honored guest in Nicaragua for this momentous occasion as we officially inaugurate Escuela Vera Angelita (“EVA”) in San Ramón, Matagalpa, Nicaragua! A labor of love for the past 9 years, EVA was inspired by an exceptional boarding school for girls in northern India called Him Jyoti School. Driven by the mission of creating an exceptional place of learning and a holistic, sustainable operation that brings attention and positive social impact to this often overlooked part of the world, this project includes 3 main components: Escuela Vera Angelita, Vera Eco-Resort, and the Vera Angelita estate (including private nature reserve which covers the majority of our 437-acre property).

This January 2025, EVA will be officially inaugurated and reopened with our incoming Grade 10 class, consisting of 46 students (12 boys, 34 girls) who come from all parts of the country, primarily from rural and indigenous communities! Classes will officially start on Monday, January 27th, so this inaugural weekend will give everyone (students, staff, the local community, and visiting guests) a chance to celebrate this exciting milestone and usher in a new chapter of the project together.

We look forward to showing you some of the beauty and richness of this country and sharing with you this social impact project that will help to educate, empower, and uplift many generations of young Nicaraguans to come!

IN-KIND DONATIONS

We welcome donations of in-kind materials for our students at Escuela Vera Angelita! Some examples of materials that are always useful include the following:

  • Books! Our beautiful library is in high demand for both English and Spanish books. Fun, pre-teen / young adult stories in particular are popular and help to stimulate the desire to read, especially if they are in Spanish.

  • Art supplies

  • Craft supplies & activities

  • Sports equipment

  • Recreational materials (games, puzzles, etc.)

  • Personal care items (hairbrushes, toothbrushes, hair ties, etc,)

  • Teaching materials

  • Anything you want to share that you believe has educational value!

We also keep an updated Amazon Wishlist of materials we are currently seeking. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to buy items off this list and/or be inspired by its contents. We encourage you to bring any gifts / donated items with you on your trip.

*As a general rule, old clothes / shoes are difficult to distribute fairly. Personal gifts for individual students are also discouraged / prohibited, as they can also cause issues of jealousy or sadness amongst the students.

If you have ANY questions at all or would like to discuss any aspect of the trip, please email (greg@visionseducation.org) or text / call (714.315.0518) Greg at anytime. We can’t wait to welcome you and have you see and experience the beauty and magic of this place for yourself!
