enza visco, b.a.

Enza Visco is pursuing a B.A. in Government with a specialization in Law and a minor in Data Science at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., where she is also an Honors Program Fellow. Her Honors Capstone research focuses on educational and employment disparities among Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals in the United States, with a particular emphasis on intersectionality and the Black community.

Born and raised in Riverside, California, Enza is Deaf and of mixed heritage, with her mother from Ethiopia and her father of Italian and Polish descent. Her multicultural background and lived experiences navigating both hearing and Deaf communities have shaped her passion for accessibility and equity. In Summer 2025, she served as a Lipinsky Intern at the Laboratory for Language and Cognitive Neuroscience (LLCN) at San Diego State University, contributing to research on visual attention and reading comprehension in Deaf individuals. She has also worked as an Outreach Student Assistant with Multicultural Student Programs at Gallaudet University, where she developed inclusive programming and supported student engagement.

Beyond her academic work, Enza sees life as something to be romanticized, finding meaning in art, creativity, and the small details of everyday experience. She brings this same perspective into her research and advocacy, seeking not only data-driven solutions but also ways to uplift stories and voices too often overlooked.
